During Culture Week, which took place at the start of December last year, we wanted to highlight and showcase the incredible talent and cultural opportunities across the Northern Powerhouse region. Focusing on five key topics (sport, arts, exhibiting, media and music), we worked closely with official partners and other stakeholders to create bespoke content to highlight each theme in detail every day. We saw contributions across the board from organisations such as the Rugby Football League, Hull City of Culture, MediaCity, Tour de Yorkshire, Liverpool SoundCity and Newcastle Gateshead Initiative.
In total, content posted on the Northern Powerhouse Facebook page alone reached almost half a million people, and 85% of tweets using #CulturedNorth were from the general public and non-official partner organisations. We want to say a massive thank you to everyone who got involved with Culture Week and made it a huge success; from working with us to create content, to those who used our toolkits to create their own, and to everyone who shared and amplified the conversation across all the social media channels.
