THE NORTHERN HOUSING CONSORTIUM JOINS THE NORTHERN POWERHOUSE PARTNER PROGRAMME

Membership body, the Northern Housing Consortium (NHC) has become the latest member of the Northern Powerhouse Partner Programme.

The Northern Powerhouse is the Government’s vision for a super-connected, globally-competitive northern economy with a flourishing private sector, a highly-skilled population, and world-renowned civic and business leadership.

The NHC, a not-for-profit membership organisation works with its unique membership of 145 local authorities, ALMOs and housing associations to achieve housing policy that works for the North. Chief Executive, Tracy Harrison said:
“We are proud to become a member of the Northern Powerhouse Partner Programme. We share an ambition to invest in the supply and quality of the North’s housing offer, supporting our members to create great places to live and en-abling the North to become a magnet for new business and talented people. This exciting new collaboration will help us to ensure housing plays an important role in the Northern Powerhouse agenda.”

Minister for the Northern Powerhouse, the Rt Hon Jake Berry MP, said:
“I am excited to welcome the Northern Housing Consortium as a member of our ever-expanding network of over 300 Northern Powerhouse Partner organisations.
“The Consortium’s commitment to creating housing policy for the North by the North with an improved quality of life at its heart builds on our £3.4 billion of Local Growth Fund investment to spur regeneration and build new infrastructure throughout the Northern Powerhouse.”
The Northern Powerhouse Partner Programme is an essential part of creating the Northern Powerhouse. Government is growing a network of partners who all believe strongly in the economic potential of the North and support the need for a combined effort by government and business to realise that potential.

There are businesses and organisations from across the North from a variety of sectors signed up to the partner programme. Prospective partners can email [email protected] for more information about the partner programme and how to apply.
