THE NORTH. MADE OF LEARNERS

PEOPLE

Our vision is to provide world-class education, training and care for everyone, whatever their background. It will make sure that everyone has the chance to reach their potential, and live a more fulfilled life. It will also create a more productive economy, so that our country is fit for the future.

We are currently making progress in the Northern Powerhouse region, with several initiatives including National Colleges such as the National College for Nuclear (Cumbria) and the National College for High Speed Rail (Doncaster), a Northern Sponsor Fund to help establish multi-academy trusts and twenty T Level providers in this region.

119,000 jobs and £12 billion delivered to the regional economy through the “N8” research-intensive universities of Durham, Lancaster, Leeds, Liverpool, Manchester, Newcastle, Sheffield and York, providing help to more than 31,000 businesses and adding more than £6.6 billion gross added value (gva) to the region.
