CREATIVE SPACE MANAGEMENT JOINS THE NORTHERN POWERHOUSE PARTNER PROGRAMME

Urban regeneration and property management company announce the first Northern Powerhouse partnership of the new year. Creative Space Management embrace 2020 as the newest members of the Government’s Northern Powerhouse partnership programme.

The firm, which specialises in growing the northern economy through public and private sector placemaking and business growth interventions, joins a network of more than 300 organisations from across the North. With Headquarters in Leeds, West Yorkshire, and partnerships with cities across the North of England, Creative Space Management join other leading businesses, civic bodies and charities that aim to boost economic growth by investing in skills, innovation, transport and culture.

Working closely with public and private sector stakeholders, Creative Space Management transform challenging locations into magnetic destinations. Their uniquely positioned business, boasting an extensive portfolio of economic development activity spanning more than a decade, has led on some of the North’s most successful place shaping initiatives. Key achievements include: pioneering work in Hull, redefining The Fruit Market, long before the city’s successful 2018 City of Culture bid; the animation of Ouseburn Valley in Newcastle, breathing life into the area through the iconic Toffee Factory redevelopment; and their game changing delivery of Sheffield’s Electric Works, supercharging investment in the city’s Digital Campus and beyond.

Established in 2006, Creative Space Management has grown from operating a single creative and digital media centre in Leeds city centre, to managing six business-cluster workspaces across Leeds, Sheffield, Rotherham and Newcastle. Their successful team of 33 creative, property management, urban regeneration and economic development professionals, deliver services to over 380 companies in the North of England.

The Northern Powerhouse partnership announcement comes at a significant time. Next week the UK will leave the European Union, and political and business leaders across the North will push ahead with newly formed economic development plans.

Creative Space Management’s Managing Director, Toby Hyam, explains:
“We’re delighted to partner with the Northern Powerhouse and we believe that now, more than ever, we need to back the North and promote the fantastic opportunities for growth that can be delivered here.

“We work with ambitious Local Authorities who take bold steps to stimulate the economies of our towns and cities. Over the last decade we’ve championed the North through a number of pioneering place-making and urban regeneration initiatives, and we’ve seen how these investments in people, place and infrastructure have created jobs, attracted talent, trade and tourism to the North.

“There are a number of Government-backed high street and town centre regeneration funding schemes currently in play, which are providing new opportunities for growth in the North. Over the next few years we’ll see private and public sector leaders working together on brave new economic growth interventions, which should generate some exciting outcomes for our communities.”

As a champion of the North, committed to working with others to grow the visitor economy, improve the built environment, create jobs and attract investment, Creative Space Management welcomes the opportunity to join other great northern businesses and civic leaders by becoming the latest Northern Powerhouse partner.

Minister for the Northern Powerhouse, the Rt Hon Jake Berry MP, said:
“Creative Space Management are a welcome addition to our growing network of over 300 Northern Powerhouse partner organisations, who are all working together with the Government to level up and help communities reach their full potential.

“Their work with almost 400 businesses across the North  is building on our £3.4 billion Local Growth Fund investment to create world-class places where people want to live, work, visit and invest in.”
