Multi award-winning Rosh Engineering Ltd has become a member of the Northern Powerhouse Partner Programme. The Tyneside based engineering business specialises in the repair, refurbishment, installation, enhancement, testing and commissioning of power transformers throughout the UK and northern Europe.
Rosh Engineering has framework contracts for Power Transformer repair and refurbishment with a number of UK electricity distribution companies. With recent growth in serving large scale solar generation the company has just purchased an adjoining factory to increase its shop floor capacity by an additional 600m2 to compliment Rosh Engineering’s existing 1,200m2 factory and its extensive on-site works throughout the country. Six distribution transformers a week are currently being refurbished but the purchase of the additional space will double the capacity available.
Rosh Engineering has a keen understanding of the advantages of partnership working taking this approach with its customer base. “we fully understand that if we can improve our customer’s efficiency and performance then there will be an increased use of Rosh Engineering’s services” says Ian Dormer, Rosh Engineering Managing Director.
The work for the solar industry involves the loss of generation while the equipment is being refurbished, but the combined efforts of the Rosh project team and the generation farm owners means this is now minimised maximising the production of the clean energy at the sites throughout the UK.
The Northern Power House and Rosh Engineering have the same philosophy:- wanting to make sure we use our individual strengths for a common success.
Minister for the Northern Powerhouse, the Rt Hon Jake Berry, MP said:
“The Northern Powerhouse is driving the green-collar jobs revolution so it’s fitting Rosh Engineering Ltd is the latest business to join our growing network of over 300 Northern Powerhouse Partners. It is clear they are keen to grow their business and support other organisations in the north-east to maximise their potential so they are able to compete on a global level as we prepare to leave the EU on 31 October.
“I’m sure Rosh Engineering Ltd’s continued support for large scale solar generation in the region will build upon our £379.6 million Local Growth Fund investment across the north-east to create more jobs and further boost the region’s clean energy sector.”
